- We are starting the adoption process again. It is going to be a lot different this time.
- We believe God is calling us to adopt from Africa.
- We are praying about either Ethiopia or Rwanda. Until recently we thought God was leading us to adopt from Ethiopia, primarily because we believed that specific country was our only option for an African adoption. But this week on Tuesday, the door to Rwanda opened for us and we are very, very excited about this possibility and definitely praying. There is more I could say about the details and timing of this but for now I won't.
- We are praying about adopting a sibling group. This may turn out to be our own idea and not God's, but we are definitely open to it and even desirous of it despite the challenges it will bring. But it is NOT a sure thing, just something we are talking and praying about.
- We have chosen to work with All God's Children International. This is in no way a negative reflection on Bethany Christian Services, our previous agency. They were awesome.
- We do not know where the money will come from, but trust God to provide it. We will be needing a considerable amount as we begin the homestudy and Josh is hoping to sell his motorcycle so that we can pay cash for that up front without going into debt pre-homestudy. Yes, we will be sharing one vehicle for a while, but we have done it before and we can do it again. =)
We believe that adoption is God's plan for our family and we have faith that he will not lead us without also providing for us. He provided financially for Eliana's adoption {and a post on how he did that is sitting in my draft box and has been for a long time - hopefully I'll be able to release it soon!} and we are excited to see how he does it this time. =)
This post at Owlhaven was encouraging to me today.

our very good friends here are in the process with Ethiopia. i too, have thought about Ethiopia . . . or Haiti. not sure what will be next. maybe even domestic again. so happy for your family. i know it will be an exciting journey! and i am excited to see the child(ren) that God brings to you.
I am so thrilled about this Loraena. . .and I just think it is incredible that Ethiopia is one of the places that God has laid on our heart over the last couple of years!! We can't wait to learn all we can from you:))))
We are praying with you!
Will be praying for this next adoption process!!! It will be exciting to see God work just like he did with Eliana!=)
This is so exciting, Loraena! And I loved Mary's post (I was behind reading her blog) and all of the responses. I have my little baby #4 right now, but that lady is my inspiration! I don't know if I'd aim for 10 :^), but I would still love to adopt at least one someday. I used to daydream about adopting a sibling group - this is just way too cool that you might get to do it in real life!
i hope you already have an inkling what this post means to me--but for lack of better words to express--just know that i'm praying and very excited for you.
Congrats!! It is exciting and scary all at the same time. What is the saying "God doesn't call the equipted, he equips the called"
Wow, how exciting for you all! I am just thrilled reading this post. Praying that God will direct your paths.
Yeah! God will provide you with the perfect child or pair, I am so excited for you two. We'll be praying for you.
How exciting for you. Expanding your family is exciting. I'm so happy for your family!
So very happy for you! It's such an exciting journey and always a step of faith. I'm thrilled for God's work in your family! Praying for you!
I'm sure you probably know several who have adopted from Ethiopia but if not, my cousin and a friend just got referrals...I'll be happy to send you their blogs. :)
